Accordion announces record number of company-wide promotions
Promotions Underscore Company’s Growth Trajectory and Reinforce Accordion’s Reputation as a Finance Industry Employer of Choice
NEW YORK – March 20, 2024 – Accordion, a private equity-focused financial and technology consulting firm, today announced that it has promoted 71 team members across the firm. The promotions include executives spanning Accordion’s practice areas: Operational & Technical Accounting, Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis, CFO-Driven Transformation, CFO Technology, Transaction Execution, Data & Analysis, Interim Leadership, and Turnaround & Restructuring.
The announcement not only reflects Accordion’s tremendous year-over-year growth and its continued plans to scale, but it also underscores the firm’s commitment to recognizing outstanding talent in a culture that has pioneered a better way to work in finance.
Included in today’s announcement are 6 notable senior promotions to Managing Director:
Mayci Cheng, Managing Director, Operational & Technical Accounting: Mayci has nearly two decades of experience partnering with CFO organizations to drive value through finance process improvement, automation optimization, and operating model transformation. She has advised clients in a variety of sectors including technology, financial services, media, and consumer products. While at Accordion, Mayci has helped companies adopt and operationalize new accounting standards in revenue recognition and leasing and has translated technical accounting policies into sustainable business processes, controls, and systems to ensure compliance. Mayci is skilled at helping clients improve operational effectiveness and efficiency through accounting. She has led F&A teams across the transformation lifecycle: vision setting, capability assessments and roadmap, process improvement in record-to-report, procure-to-pay, quote-to-cash, and financial system implementations. She has also assisted with M&A integration and separation to build out Day 1 playbooks, organization structure design, and transition plans.
Howard Goldstein, Managing Director, Operational & Technical Accounting: Howard has over twenty-five years of experience in accounting, finance, risk, controls team leadership, and COO duties. While with Accordion, Howard has partnered with private equity backed companies across the financial services, health care, professional services, and construction sectors. He has led transformation initiatives geared towards streamlining business operations and driving growth and profit and has collaborated with CFOs to accelerate the month end close and optimize procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, and record-to-report processes. He serves as a trusted advisor to the C-suite on CFO driven transformation, cost reduction, process optimization, robotic process automation, and financial close solutions. Howard has also developed the vision and operating model for several global control functions.
Zach Chandis, Managing Director, Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis: Zach has over 15 years of advisory, financial, and operational experience with companies across a range of industries including transportation, pharmaceuticals, software, technology, industrials, energy, construction and manufacturing, business services, consumer, telecom, and media. While at Accordion, Zach has partnered with management and sponsors of private equity backed companies to improve liquidity and business performance through enhanced visibility. He has also developed and integrated forecasting processes and analysis, while creating standardized model templates. Zach is differentiated by his experience in several areas of finance: private equity, special situations, investment banking, restructuring, and consulting. He has served in interim management roles in FP&A and direct support for C-Suite executives and has advised companies and creditors through complex operational and financial cross-border restructurings, including Chapter 11, asset enforcement, and 363 sales.
Anton Gimmel, Managing Director, Strategic Financial Planning & Analysis: Anton has over 15 years of advisory, investment and FP&A experience with companies ranging from startups to large multinational corporations. At Accordion, Anton partners with management and private equity sponsors to transform organizations and improve business performance. He specializes in strategic financial planning and analysis, liquidity management and leadership of operational and financial initiatives and provides visibility to businesses through his core budgeting and forecasting expertise, enhanced by data modelling. Anton has built bespoke revenue recognition, revenue forecast and payroll tools, developed robust 13-week cash forecasts, managed working capital in distressed situations, helped stand up multiple finance organizations, and prepared companies for exit both by public listing and M&A. His prior roles in growth equity investing and as a CFO/COO give him unique perspective on value creation for all stakeholders.
Gaurang Gupta, Managing Director, Transaction Execution: Gaurang has a decade of experience advising clients on how to drive value through deal execution for complex M&A and divestitures, providing both buy and sell-side support. His specialties include integration and separation program management, Day 1 planning and execution, post-merger integration, TSA management, financial close, consolidation and reporting, standalone costing and operating model frameworks for asset/stock deals. While with Accordion, Gaurang has successfully led end-to-end merger integration and carve-out projects helping the clients drive deal value through issue-free Day 1 and post close execution.
George Theocharopoulos, Managing Director, Transaction Execution: George has more than 20 years of M&A and operational performance improvement. Throughout his career, he has led complex M&A transactions and operational restructuring and turnaround efforts across a variety of industries, both as an advisor as well as an executive. At Accordion, George supports clients throughout the deal lifecycle, from deal strategy and operational diligence to Day 1 planning and readiness, through post-close stabilization and transformation execution. Prior to becoming an advisor, George acquired hands-on merger integration, performance improvement, and operational turnaround experience as a manager for leading multinational manufacturing, industrial, and technical services companies.
